Security Document World 2010 (SDW 2010) received record audiences and outstanding reviews from delegates, visitors, exhibitors and sponsors who attended the three-day event that took place on 8-10 February, 2010.

Now in its fourth year, the show once again proved it was able to attract a world-class audience from the security document, border control, eID and document anti-counterfeiting industries – firmly cementing itself as Europe’s leading annual event in the sector.

This was the second time the event was held at the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, in the heart of Westminster, London, UK. The event attracted a record attendance of more than 1200 attendees (a 20% increase on 2009) with representatives from 51 countries taking part.

Further analysis of the show’s attendance showed:

• 46% of attendees were from outside of the UK, with 11% outside of Europe;
• 24% of attendees were from Government and Law Enforcement organisations, with 69% of all attendees at Director or Senior Manager level;
• Alongside the exhibition, the conference attracted more than 330 delegates, a 23% increase on 2009;
• 71 exhibiting companies attended the sell-out show – a record for the event.

Conference attendees heard from more than 40 world-class speakers over three days of intense discussion and debate.

Highlights at the show included a special half-day seminar run by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) focusing on its highly topical PKD (Public Key Directory) initiative.

Christiane DerMarkar, Joint Financing Officer, Air Transport Bureau, ICAO, commented: “The SDW 2010 event was an excellent platform for ICAO to disseminate the necessary information about the ICAO PKD. As part of the SDW 2010 event, the PKD Seminar confirmed the increased contribution of the PKD to international border security as well as to aviation security in general.”
